Barbie is a fashion doll created by Mattel in 1959. The following year Random House published a series of novels. In these novels we learn mom and dad are George and Margaret Roberts from Willows, Wisconsin, this is also where we learn Barbie attended Willow High school. While in 1999 Golden Books published Generation Girl books, which places Barbie in New York attending high school at Manhattan International high school.

Fast forward to present day Barbie - Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse 2012, and Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures series 2018 . Barbie's name is used on a regular basis and she lives in Malibu California.
