What is the most popular dog breed in America?

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), the family-friendly Labrador Retriever is top dog in the United States for the 25th consecutive year. They come in yellow, black, chocolate and white. They are known for their gentle nature and love for children.

German Shepherds are the second most popular breed, followed Golden Retrievers, third, Bulldogs, fourth, then Beagles, fifth.

People need to stop going to breeders and puppy-mills. If you want a dog, you should rescue one.

Scott Sumone, You are the alpha dog. You must let your eyes tell her when you are pleased, and when you are not pleased. Bring her outside right after eating. Praise her when she does her business outside. Use "no" for anything she should not do. When she first begins barking, praise her for doing her job. Then, establish , "no noise". Does she have toys to distract her? Does she get a special toy when she decides to go outside for business? Thank you, Christine, James's wife

I have two mutts...I was carrying a bag of catfood home when someone yelled "Hey mister. Do you want a dog?" Mine had died some time back and I was thinking of getting one Sure...this little dog chases everything...bikes, running children, critters...she stays on a leash when she is outside...I was walking her one day and a car pulled up and someone yelled, "Hey mister. Do you want a dog?" What the hell...what's her name? Roxy...this dog doesn't come to Roxy...she doesn't come to anything...She could go to do her business outside as the other dog does, but no....she does use paper sometimes...she has bit my hand...she barks, and will not stop...she jumps on your legs....moral of the story? If anyone says to "Hey mister, or madame. Do you want a dog?...Runaway...
