In the 1975 film, "Jaws," Sheriff Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) and shark expert Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) unsuccessfully attempt to warn the mayor to shut down the beaches on account of a massive man eating shark in waters near Amity Island, a fictional New England resort town.

The peaceful community of Amity Island is being terrorized by a great white shark. There is something in the sea that is attacking and killing swimmers. The people can no longer enjoy the sea and the sun when they go to the beach. There is fear spreading and affecting the large numbers of tourists who are attracted to the island to have fun in the water and a good time on the beach.

After many failed attempts to catch the clever shark with conventional means, Sheriff Brody teams with shark expert, Hooper and shark hunter, Quint (Robert Shaw). They decide that they must go after the monster shark; they will attempt to kill it once and for all. Since the people on Amity Island have come to truly fear what they cannot see, will they ever feel safe enough to go back into the water?
