What nationality is singer-songwriter Terry Jacks?
Terrence Ross "Terry" Jacks is a Canadian singer-songwriter who was born in 1944 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is best known for his 1974 hit "Seasons In The Sun".
He is also a renowned record producer and, later in life, an environmentalist.
The aforementioned song was originally intended for The Beach Boys but when they eventually decided not to record it, Jacks who'd penned the lyrics and accompanying music recorded it himself in late 1973. It sold 14million copies worldwide and made number 1 in the Canadian, American and British pop charts in 1974.

I thought he was Australian for some reason, but when the options came up I went for Canada instead.

David Roy, according to Wikipedia, he rewrote the song which was a rewrite of Rod McKuen's rewrite of Jacques Brel's song. Wikipedia says it 'bears little resemblance to Brel's original in tone, substance or poetry'.
