What odd pet did Audrey Hepburn have?

Audrey Hepburn adopted a baby deer that she filmed with in Green Mansions. She adopted it in order to be able to bond with it better, which is what the animal handler on set suggested. Audrey named it Pippin but called it Ip for short. The movie was released in 1959 and directed by her husband at the time Mel Ferrer. The movie is about a man who falls in love with a strange woman (Rima) in the forest in Venezuela.
