"Dune" is an American science fiction space movie, based on a novel written by Frank Herbert. The lengthy film was not well received by critics, and was a box office failure. Over time the film has developed a cult following, and it was even remade with a different cast.

Rock star Sting played a prominent role in the original movie as one of the evil Harkonnens. Sting does not sing in the movie but he has an elaborate knife fight with the hero at the end. The movie even with all its special effects, is played out as a drama instead of an all out action film. Herbert wrote the novel "Dune" in 1965 and the movie was released in 1984.
