What’s the original purpose of Taj Mahal?

The most beautiful and incredible construction in India is certainly Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Work on the Taj Mahal – "The jewel of the Indian architecture" - began in 1634 and continued for almost 22 years and required the labor of 20,000 workers from all over India and Central Asia. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his wife Mumtaz Mahal, and until now it stands as the emblem of the eternal love story.

If you will research this and find out the conditions of the workers who built this, you'll feel differently about it, That is the story no one tells.

It was originally built as a Memorial built for his wife. It became a Mausoleum after she was dead a quarter of a century.

Very impressive from the outside but the tomb inside us in a small area with thousands of people queuing to get in. A bit claustrophobic and no time to look properly. Having said that I do love all things Indian. It's an amazing country 🇮🇳
