What scent is named after the city in which it was first produced?

Eau de Cologne, or simply cologne, is a perfume originating from Cologne, Germany. It was originally mixed by Italian-born Johann Maria Farina in 1709. It has since come to be a generic term for scented formulations in typical concentration of 2%–5% and also more depending upon its type essential oils or a blend of extracts, alcohol, and water.

In a base of diluted ethanol (70%–90%), eau de cologne contains a mixture of citrus oils including oils of lemon, orange, tangerine, clementine, bergamot, lime, grapefruit, blood orange, and bitter orange. It can also contain oils of neroli, lavender, rosemary, thyme, oregano, petitgrain (orange leaf), jasmine, olive, oleaster, and tobacco.

The city is called Koln as it is in Germany, Colonge is the French version of the name. The question would have been better off using the proper German name for the city

Cologne isn't a scent. It's A TYPE of fragrance - basically a watered down perfume.

In Cologne u can see huge bombed out - WW II -Church adjacent to modern train station. Cologne was Gestapo main HQs so was totally bombed. Concrete except huge church that's 1st thing tourists see.Eerie

I may be wrong but from my understanding of history, larger cities/ communities didn't usually have sanitary way to dispose of waste, human or trash. People usually didn't bathe as much as we do now. Because of this people had to find ways to cover odors. Perfume as well as putting grasses or hay on the floor were ways to help those problems.
