"From Hollywood, here's the game where knowledge is king, and lady luck is queen! It's The Joker's Wild!" This was the Jack Barry created game show of the 1970s. On the show, two contestants would take turns spinning an over-sized slot machine. Each of its three wheels on the machine had five trivia categories and a Joker. The players could use the Joker to represent any category in the game.

The winning player, after winning $250 for the game, would then spin wheels on the machine up to three times. The winner would then take whatever prize showed up on the reels after each spin. Items ranged from 'Zonks' to big prizes and large amounts of cash. The show itself aired on the CBS network from 1972 to 1975, and from 1977 to 1986 in broadcast syndication.

This game show was so popular that a children's version, titled "Joker! Joker!! Joker!!!" aired from 1979 to 1981 in syndication.
