According to "The Princeton Review", the rowdy students of Tulane University grabbed the title of the top party school in America for the 2017-2018 school year, stealing the crown away from last year's winner, the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Tulane is a private, nonsectarian research university in New Orleans, LA. It is considered the top university and the most selective institution of higher education in the Pelican State.

West Virginia was second with Bucknell, Syracuse and Wisconsin rounding out the top five.

"The Princeton Review" is a college admissions service company offering test preparation services, tutoring and admissions resources, online courses, and books published by Random House.

The Review also lists schools by various categories such as Academics, Greek Life, Sports and Party Schools after polling students throughout the country.

The term party school is used to refer to a college or university (usually in the United States) that has a reputation for heavy alcohol and drug use or a general culture of licentiousness at the expense of educational credibility and integrity.

The Review has come under harsh criticism over the years by the American Medical Association for printing the party school list, saying it has no meaning and encourages on-campus alcohol and drug abuse. In 2002, USA Today published an editorial praising the list, saying The Review was doing a public service by making parents aware of the situation at certain schools.
