Mary Frances "Debbie" Reynolds (April 1, 1932 – December 28, 2016) was an American actress, singer, businesswoman, film historian, humanitarian, and mother of the actress and writer Carrie Fisher. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer for her portrayal of Helen Kane in the 1950 film 'Three Little Words', and her breakout role was her first leading role, as Kathy Selden in 'Singin' in the Rain' (1952).

Reynolds first film was 'June Bride' a 1948 American comedy film directed by Bretaigne Windust. Ranald MacDougall's screenplay, based on the unproduced play Feature for 'June' by Eileen Tighe and Graeme Lorimer, was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Written American Comedy. The film starred Bette Davis and Robert Montgomery. The Warner Bros. release marked the screen debut of Debbie Reynolds, although her appearance was uncredited.

Her first role in June Bride was unbilled but she was in it and it was a 1948 picture. Three Little Words was a 1950 pictures. By the way before Three Little Words she was in The Daughter of Rosie O’Grady. While it also was a 1950 picture she made that one before Three Little Words. At least this is what I read at the time of her death.
