Vladimir Lenin (alias Lenin) was born in 1870 in Simbirsk, Russia. At birth, he was given the name Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov by his parents. Later, he became well known by his alias Lenin. During his life, he would become a famous politician, Russian communist revolutionary, and political theorist.

As a result of the civil war, one of the major action taken by Lenin was to revise the government's economic policy and introduce the New Economic Policy (NEP). Through this, peasants were allowed to sell some of their produce for profit. Some small traders were even allowed to run businesses.

He was the son of Ilya Nikolayevich Ulyanov and Maria Alexandrovna Ulyanova. They had two children, Anna (born 1864) and Alexander (born 1868), before Lenin was born on April 10, 1870. Lenin lived for 53 years. He died on January 21, 1924 in Moscow, Russia. His official cause of death was recorded as an incurable disease of the blood vessels.
