Orthography is indeed the set of conventions for writing a language, but only the writing of it. Spelling, for example, comes under the heading of orthography. The rest of the answer does not apply to orthography.

Good that I took a double chance. Grammar was my first choice and the right one but not the one that counted.

Grammar concerns more spoken language. Syntax is an alternative correct answer. Orthography can be defines as more concerned only with spelling...just sayin’...
