The “King of Rock and Roll,” Elvis Presley, was found dead of an apparent heart attack, possibly caused by prescription drugs, at the age of 42.

Presley died suddenly at his mansion, "Graceland", in Memphis, Tennessee. He was found in his bathroom wearing blue pajamas and reading "The Gospel Times" magazine.

Many fans around the world mourned his loss while some profess, to this day, he is still alive.

Elvis Presley began his career as a teenager in the early 1950s after recording a birthday song for his mother titled "That's Alright Mama". He was soon catapulted into international stardom with his first single “Heartbreak Hotel” in 1956.

He was well known for his distinctive voice (which many said made him sound "black") and controversial dance moves that left fans screaming!

Elvis also starred in several musical films, his first being "Love Me Tender" and his last being "Change of Habit".

As fame and fortune often does, Elvis struggled with drug abuse, health issues, and a divorce from his longtime partner Priscilla, in the final years of his life.
