When was the Sveriges Riksbank Prize for Economic Sciences first given?
In 1968, Sveriges Riksbank (Sweden's central bank) established the Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. The Prize is based on a donation received by the Nobel Foundation in 1968 from Sveriges Riksbank on the occasion of the Bank's 300th anniversary. The first Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded to Ragnar Frisch and Jan Tinbergen in 1969.
The Prize in Economic Sciences is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm, Sweden, according to the same principles as for the Nobel Prizes that have been awarded since 1901.

As a reasonably intelligent individual I bowed to the fact that I hadn’t a clue what the award was. Took a guess..I was wrong..oops. But now I know what it was, when it started, how it was established and under what circumstances. See I learned something today “Cool Dude”. I have to admit you come up with some pretty interesting questions. 😲😉

These type questions, “In what year did such and such happen...” are the laziest kinds of questions. Unless knowing the year was somewhat important then a question about the event itself is much more interesting. It is more of a challenge to the writer as well. Anyway, that’s what I tried to do with my high school students.
