The building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge started in 1923 and was completed in 1932. It spans Sydney Harbour, carrying traffic from the CBD (Central Business District) to Sydney's North Shore. The bridge is nicknamed 'The Coat-hanger' because of its shape.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge featured on a series of Australian stamps in 1932, to commemorate its opening.

Tour groups are organised to allow you to climb the bridge, either at daytime or night. You wear special climbing gear to ensure safety.

The Australian actor Paul Hogan worked as a rigger on the Harbour Bridge before he gained fame as a comedian and actor.
