Located in Kampong Cham, a city in the East part of Cambodia, the Bamboo Bridge is the major means of access across the Mekong river to the nearby island of Koh Paen in the drier seasons of the year. Even crazier, the Bamboo Bridge is rebuilt every year and is expected to hold hundreds of people at any given time. The bridge is washed away as the river rises in the wet season and rebuilt again every dry season. The bridge has a solid framework made of bamboo sticks and a carpet of several layers of canes cut in halves extending over it, absorbing the impact of the vehicles. It is an interesting tourist attraction in itself and looking like it was made of matchsticks from afar.
