Which California NHL team was the first in the state to win the Stanley Cup?
The 2007 Stanley Cup Final was the best-of-seven championship series of the 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs contested between the Western Conference champion Anaheim Ducks and the Eastern Conference champion Ottawa Senators, defeating the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings in earlier rounds.
It was the second appearance in the Finals for Anaheim since 2003 (known as the Mighty Ducks) when they lost to the New Jersey Devils. It was the first appearance for the Senators since entering the NHL as an expansion team in 1992. Anaheim defeated Ottawa in five games and were awarded their first Stanley Cup becoming the eleventh post-1967 expansion team to win the NHL championship trophy.

I used a double chance. I first chose the Kings as they have been in the NHL longer. When I got it wrong and then chose the sharks.

Know it certainly wasn't the Sharks. Much like the LA Dogturds, they have a bad choking problem in the post-season. LA Kings and Ontario aren't good enough teams to see the post-season.
