Which city in New Zealand is known as the "Adventure Capital of the World"?

Today, Queenstown, New Zealand has became one of the best places in the world for adventure activities and adventure experiences. It is well known inside and outside of New Zealand that Queenstown is considered the 'Adventure Capital of the World' especially by those who call themselves adventure seekers.

In New Zealand, Queenstown is the home of adventure, and the title ‘Adventure Capital of the World’ is a reputation well earned. There is a large array of adventure activities and fun attractions offered in the town (Queenstown) all year round. Individuals and adventure groups can (1) bungy jump with the world’s original bungy company AJ Hackett Bungy, (2) tandem skydive with NZONE Skydive, (3) go white water rafting with Challenge Rafting, or (4) go jet boating with Shotover Jet. These are several key activities where people are usually seen having great, great fun!

Cheryl Perkins, I learned just how uncaring and destructive tourists can be when I worked one summer as a campground guard for the U.S. Forest Service in Montana. They constantly trashed the grounds, including both mens and womens latreens. Unbelieveably, this behavior (and I'm not talking about kids, but about supposedly mature adults) included wrecking fences, carving on tables, and even tearing branches off trees. After that experience I went after summer jobs in fire control and, after a stint as a Navy officer, became a tax auditor for my profession.

Been there a couple times. Great place to base to go to Milford Sound, ski the Remarkables and Fox Glacier. Reminded me of Jackson Hole from the sixties.
