wisdom, I always thought Glasgow was the 2nd oldest (14 Dec 1896). Many quizzes have referred to it as that even in the past few years. I wonder what made the change.

I would have answered "London" without hesitation if it had been an option ;-)

Did know about London but guessed on this and was surprised that Budapest was in the running.

Please spgcool dude, try to vary where you put the right answer. I did not know, so i pick the first one. Ok, i made an educated guess also. I reasoned that Budapest was part at the time of the most powerful empire ( outside of the British , that is ) and i would probably have pick it anyway

I used the Budapest Metro when I was there last year.
