The barbecue at Central BBQ in Memphis, Tennessee is considered great; but, the pulled-pork barbecue nachos are at the next-level. Central BBQ is so popular and beloved that the restaurant and its owners have made appearances on shows such as "Pitmasters," "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," and "BBQ with Bobby Flay."

Though it has been said by amateur barbecue fan and author Johnny Fugitt that he is normally a dry rib kind of guy, he has to praise the wet ribs at Central.

Opened in 2002, and full of students from nearby colleges, Central has a breezy, spring break feel and outdoor deck seating to match. People love to order a pork plate with extra “bark” (the dark, heavily smoked crust). Then when customers leave, they make sure to pick up a brown bag of thick cut potato chips, sprinkled with Central’s special seasoning blend. Minutes later the former customers are seen licking your fingers. The food is that good; they want to remember the food from Central for as long as they can.
