The very well known and versatile actor Mickey Rooney was born Joe Yule, Jr. on September 23, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York. As a toddler, he made his first appearance on the stage in his parents' vaudeville act. When he was a young child, he made his first movie appearance in 1926, playing a little person.
