Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan with an area of 347,190 km2 (134,050 sq mi) constituting 44% of Pakistan's total land mass. Its provincial capital and largest city is Quetta.It has borders with Punjab and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas to the northeast, Sindh to the east and southeast, the Arabian Sea to the south, Iran to the west and Afghanistan to the north and northwest.

The weather of this province is characterized by very cold winters and hot summers.Winters are mild on the plains, with temperature never falling below freezing point.For administrative purpose, its divided into six Divisions – Kalat, Makran, Nasirabad, Quetta, Sibi, and Zhob.

The province of Balochistan is full of natural resources like natural gas, coal, and other minerals.The economy of Balochistan is based on these natural resources. Currently, the construction of a new deep-sea port is under progress at the strategically important city of Gwadar in Balochistan. Gwadar city is considered as the hub of an energy and trade corridor to and from China and the Central Asian republics.
