Which man has coached the most teams to win the NCAA College Football National Championship?
Paul "Bear" Bryant coached six (6) national championship teams. All while at the University of Alabama.
Nick Saban has coached five (5) national championship teams. Four with Alabama and one with LSU.
Frank Leahy coached four (4) national championship teams. All were with Notre Dame in the 1940's.
Urban Meyer has coached three (3) national championship teams. Two were while at Florida and one at Ohio State.

BS. Saban tied Bryant this year when Alabama beat Georgia.

This needs to be corrected, Saban passed Bryant's record with 7 wins in 2020 and tied it in 2017

There never has been a FBS Championship event. The current system is the closest thing to a championship event. Bryant’s championships were merely popularity contest with a least one being declared by only local newspapers.

This question should be removed or updated. The correct answer is: Nick Saban won his first national championship with LSU during the 2003 NCAA season. But the Tigers split that title with USC, which earned AP honors. Saban has won six more rings with Alabama, further building on what already was arguably the greatest winning legacy in college football history

I concur with those who pointed out that Saban tied Bryant's 6 in 2017 and surpassed him in 2020 with a total of 7 championships. Since the thumbs above this section show 3 green upthumbs and 0 red downthumbs (mine, as usual, nt yet showing), I assume that not many, if any, reports have been filed to retify the situation. I hope that my report is soon joined by others.
