Which musician (artist or band) had the highest gross income for 2015?

2015 was a huge year for American artist Katy Perry. With a superbowl performace and another worldwide tour under her belt, she became the highest grossing artist for the year, making a whopping $135 million! This puts her at the 3rd highest paid celebrity in the world under Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

In 2nd place is Britain's top boy band One Direction with $130 million. Third place goes to the country icon Garth Brooks with $90 million. 4th place goes to American sweetheart, pop country star Taylor Swift with $80 million. With her 1989 Tour still going strong and grossing some $4 million per city, this puts her as the top contender for the No. 1 spot on next year's list.

I think Billboard only lists American singers/groups. Typical of most American outfits, they don't mention that fact, just assume that everyone will know. Forbes lists all singers and for 2015 this is this the list: Katy Perry – $135 million. ... One Direction – $130 million. ... Garth Brooks – $90 million. ... Taylor Swift – $80 million. ... The Eagles – $73.5 million. ... Calvin Harris – $66 million. ... Justin Timberlake – $63.5 million. ... Diddy – $60 million. So Kate Perry is the correct answer for 2015. Taylor Swift ousted her in 2016 with $170 million; 2017 Diddy with $120 million; 2018 U2 with $118 million.
