FANTA is a brand of fruit-flavored carbonated soft drinks created by Coca-Cola. The drink originated in Nazi Germany for Coca-Cola in 1940 to circumvent a trade embargo of Nazi Germany during World War II. Coca-Cola Germany decided to create a new product for the Nazi market, using only ingredients available in Germany at the time. The plant was cut off from Coca-Cola USA during the war. After the war, the Coca-Cola USA regained control of the plant, as well as the plant profits made during the war.
