I worked there as a Verizon, them Bell Atlantic, technician when Hurricane Job the some of the place up. A Mercedes there is considered a "poor man's car." 😧🙄 Yeah, driveways filled with Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Rolls Royce and the daily driver were typically Porsches. Completely ridiculous driving around that place, like you fell into a Twilight Zone. But can I tell you something? The truly RICH people are NOT like the AZZHATS you find in Bronxville, Scarsdale, and other well to do places. These are the working well to do and they become serious jackasses when they "get there." The Hamptons, they're living off the interest of massive money made generations ago. They don't have time to be stuck up, pretentious, or egotistical. Put it this way, one morning another tech and I were at a service box and the closest house was so far away it looked like a dot in a sea of green grass. We looked up as we sipped our cheap coffee and looked at each other as a figure seemed to be marching towards us. We looked at each other expecting the usual to drivel of "fix my line first blah blah blah." As the figure got closer we couldn't believe our eyes... The woman of the house was walking with a tray of breakfast snacks, orange juice and the best coffee I'd had in a long time. 😧🙄😏🤩🤗 This kind woman made our day and for a brief moment we could forget about the Scarsdale and Bronxville SNOBS who regularly barked orders at us as if we were the help, told us to enter from the back door, or take off your boots because my rug is expensive. Puhleeeze. 😂 I remember one chap in Bronxville whose house was literally built on the bedrock. We wore out 3 drills trying to get the FiOS line inside. Burning hot day, that clown didn't so much as offer us a glass of water and his only comment was dont drop our sweat on his expensive rugs.... This is ALL true.
