“I’ll Never Find Another You” was the first single released in the United Kingdom by the Australian pop/rock/folk group, The Seekers, in 1964. The mellow ballad reached #1 on the UK and Australian singles charts, #2 in Ireland, #2 on the US Billboard Easy Listening Chart and #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

A 1967 cover by Sonny James reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles Chart and #97 on the Hot 100. It was also covered by Nora Aunor in 1968 and Guitarist Les Fradkin in 2006. In 2010, husband and wife Ben Gibbard and Zooey Deschanel performed it to benefit homeless young people. Gibbard is the lead singer for “Death Cab for Cutie”, and Deschanel is an actress and singer. The following year, Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive added the song to its Sounds of Australia registry.

The group was formed in 1962, in Melbourne, Victoria. When Lead Singer Ken Ray left the group to get married, Judith Durham took his place, joining founding members Anthol Guy, Keith Potger, and Bruce Woodley on guitar.

In addition to “I’ll Never Find Another you”, The Seekers’ other gold-record songs include “A World of Our Own”, “The Carnival Is Over”, and “Georgy Girl”, which was featured in the film of the same name.
