Which of these supernatural TV sitcoms first aired in September of 1964?
In September of 1964 three new comedy sitcoms were aired. These three I refer to were all about supernatural families. Bewitched was about a real life witch that marries a mortal man and tries to get along without using any magic. The Addams Family, was a family of ghoulish people with unusual abilities, trying to live a normal life. The Munsters were a family of classic monsters, also trying to live a normal life. The Addams Family and The Munsters were both part of the CBS network, and aired 1964-66. Bewitched was carried on the ABC network and ran from 1964 through 1972.

Best ever tv viewing. Wish we had talented people today to create light hearted shows like these to help whisk us away from reality after a hard day at work. I rarely even turn my tv on anymore in that everything is so ridiculous with spewing sexual infreinces, false politics, and violence.
Not trying to start a war here, just saying. It's a sad messed up world we live in today.

If you think the 60s were all peaches and cream, then you weren't paying attention. Don't you remember the Vietnam war, the racial strife across America which brought the riots in Watts, the fight to eliminate segregation, the battle for civil rights, the Cuban missile crisis, and the assassinations of JFK, Malcolm X, MLK, and RFK?

williamrlaughlin, The difference is the problems of the 60's weren't brought into our living rooms every day and night via the TV shows we watched.The shows didn't preach hate for the Viet Nam war or bring up race issues or politics like they do today. None of that was brought up It was just wholesome family entertainment that helped you forget what was going on in the world for just a little while.

williamrlaughlin, I thought, patrhea was referring to the ability of these shows to take us away, however briefly, from the turmoil & horrors of the time. I don't think she/he, was saying those times were "the good old days".

williamrlaughlin, Right, 'Good Times.' I started BCT at FT. Ord on 10, September 1964. More concerned with the meningitis than the TV we didn't have time to watch. As for 'Watts', the lefties could have written the McCone Commission Report report years before.

williamrlaughlin, I think you’re missing the point of the past response… Yes the 60s were not perfect but the entertainment was 100% better and the performers were 100% more talented and genuine.
