There were many motorcycle companies started in the early 20th century, but Cord was not one. Cord was a luxury car builder in Indiana that was founded in 1929 and went bankrupt in 1937.

Most people are familiar with Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles, which have survived and are still being produced today. However few people have heard of motorcycles companies like Thor, Iver Johnson, Reading Standard, Curtiss, Marsh, Pierce, or Henderson. Even Sears made a motorcycle called the Deluxe, which was sold through their catalogs. These rare discontinued motorcycles, and many others not listed, can be seen in museums, like "Barbers Vintage Motorcycle Museum" in Birmingham AL.
