There are strange things done in the midnight sun

By the men who moil for gold;

The Arctic trails have their secret tales

That would make your blood run cold;

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,

But the queerest they ever did see

Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge

I cremated Sam McGee.

One of the most famous and loved poems by this author and poet, Robert W. Service, the poem tells of a young man from Tennessee who adventures north in search of gold, but hates every day of it, and ends up dying only to be cremated by his partner, but the story has a bone chilling twist.

It has excellent rhythm and rhyme and is a fun read with lots of history and locations throughout.
