The rugged movie star who once appeared in a pink bunny suit in an episode of the 1968 - 1973 U.S. TV series "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" was John Wayne. Wayne (a guy who wore a bunny costume) was one of the countless guest stars (Sammy Davis Jr., William F. Buckley Jr., Peter Lawford, James Garner, Richard Nixon, etc.) to be on the ionic TV show.

This comedy series was hosted by the team of Dan Rowan and Dick Martin. Rowan was the straight man and Martin was the clueless womanizer and comedic stooge. The show also featured a cast of zanies: Goldie Hawn, who would giggle and flub her lines; Judy Carne, known as the "Sock It to Me" girl; Lily Tomlin, who became a sensation as Ernestine the telephone operator; Ruth Buzzi, best known for her spinster, Gladys Ormphby; Arte Johnson, whose German soldier would peer from behind a palm plant and say, "Veery interesting"; Henry Gibson, who uttered inane hippie verse as "The Poet"; Jo Anne Worley, a feather-boa-wearing loudmouth; and Gary Owens, the pitch-perfect announcer who told the audience that the show was coming from "beautiful downtown Burbank." All of the guests on the show were expected to be zany like the regulars. John Wayne, a superstar for making Hollywood movies between 1926 - 1977, did a great job and related well to the sitcom actions occurring on 'Laugh-In'.
