Mark Richard Hamill (born September 25, 1951) is an American stage, screen and voice actor. He is known for playing Luke Skywalker in the "Star Wars" film series.

Hamill's early career included a recurring role on the soap opera "General Hospital". "General Hospital" is an American daytime television medical drama. It is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running American soap opera in production and the second longest-running drama in television in American history after "Guiding Light".

On the soap opera, Hamill played Kent Murray, who along with his sister is forced to live with their aunt after the death of their father.
