The 2017 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament is being held from May 18 through June 7, 2017 as the final part of the 2017 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 participating NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 14, 2017. Thirty-two teams were awarded automatic bids as champions of their conferences, and the remaining 32 were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminates with eight teams playing in the 2017 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma would repeat as National Champions, defeating Florida in 2 games.

The Florida Gators and The Oklahoma Sooners have combined to play for and win the Women's College World Series the last 5 Years to include 2017. Oklahoma has won 3 to Florida's 2. championships.

This year they played each other The Sooners won the first game in 17 innings by a score of 7-5 and finished off the Gators 5-4 in game 2.
