Reno is a city in the U.S. in the state of Nevada. It is located in Northern Nevada, approximately 22 miles (35 km) from Lake Tahoe. Known as "The Biggest Little City in the World", Reno is famous for its casinos and as the birthplace of Caesars Entertainment Corporation. Accordingly, Reno proudly displays its nickname as "The Biggest Little City in the World" on a large sign above a downtown street.

Specifically, Reno got its nickname about 70 years ago (1945) from city fathers who were creating an advertising slogan. At that time, Reno and not Las Vegas was the gambling center in the state of Nevada. A great many tourists came to Reno to have fun and enjoy their lives. Also, many divorce laws in U.S. states were very restrictive, costly, and required a substantial amount of time to finalize. Thus, Reno became known as the mecca for getting a quickie divorce and feeling little or no regret about the actions that took place.

Basically, Reno Nevada was and is now viewed by most people as a small city (land size), and even if it is, people can still do anything in this city that can be done in big ones.
