On "The Quick Draw McGraw Show" (1959), Baba Looey was a fictional television anthropomorphic Mexican burro that appeared as the deputy and best friend to Sheriff Quick Draw McGraw. He was the cartoon character who was voiced by Daws Butler.

Concerning Baba Looey, he was brown in color, had long ears, wore a sombrero, and spoke with a thick Mexican accent. He very often hung around public places in the Old West with Quick Draw and helped him to catch bad guys. He was the one who was often portrayed as the more thoughtful and clever. At times realizing a specific detail about a given situation, Baba Looey would try desperately to caution Quick Draw of a trap or obvious danger. But, Quick Draw normally charged headlong into the fray without listening or giving any consideration to any danger in his surroundings.

Baba Looey was truly needed on the show since Quick Draw McGraw really believed that he was the high-falutin'est, fastest shootin'-est cowboy that one had ever seen. These ideas however were strictly in his delusional head!
