An American TV sitcom that aired from November 1993 to January 1994 was named "George". Former heavyweight champ George Foreman was picked to be the lead actor in this sitcom. He headed the cast in a show about a retired boxer who found new meaning in life by helping troubled kids. They attended the school where George's wife was a teacher.

The show was the key idea of actor Tony Danza, who also at one point in his life had been a boxer. He was the co-executive producer for "George". At the time this show started, Foreman stated that the focus of the show's story line would be to "find ways to get kids very interested in obtaining formal educations" (Note the ten episodes that aired).

This show really tries to be positive and upbeat while showing people that they can learn to live good and productive lives. As a practical thought at the time, it was said by show executives that if the show was picked up by ABC for a fall schedule George Foreman would officially retire from boxing.
