Jerry Rice has scored the most career Super Bowl points. He played in four Super Bowl games. He participated with the San Francisco in XXIII, XXIV, XXIX, and with the Oakland Raiders in XXXVII. With these teams, he scored a total of 48 points. These actual points resulted from him making 8 touchdowns.

Overall, Rice's career made him the all-time leader in most major statistical categories for wide receivers. This includes: receptions, touchdown receptions, and receiving yards, once being the leader for total yards in a season.

Rice was also selected to the Pro Bowl 13 times (1986–1996, 1998, 2002) and named All-Pro 12 times in his 20 NFL seasons. He won three Super Bowls with the 49ers and an AFC Championship with the Oakland Raiders. As of 2016 Rice holds over 100 NFL records, the most of any player by a wide margin.

On August 7, 2010, Rice was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Then on November 4, 2010, Rice was chosen as the greatest player in NFL history by NFL Network's NFL Films production The Top 100: NFL's Greatest Players.
