Dave McNally is the only pitcher in Major League history to hit a grand slam in a World Series game (Game 3, 1970, a 9–3 victory). His home run cleared the right field wall and the Orioles went on to win the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds.

In 1971 the Orioles made it back to the World Series and McNally was one of the Orioles' 4 twenty game winners--Dave McNally, Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar, and Pat Dobson. This was the last time any MLB team had 4 twenty game winners.
