As of June 2016, Emma Martina Luigia Morano (born 29 November 1899) is an Italian supercentenarian at 116 years old which makes her the world's oldest living person. Emma is also the last verified person on Earth to have been born in the 19th century.
Emma lives on her own at her home. She believes she has no special secrets of longevity: she is just positive about her life and future. She doesn't keep to a diet and enjoys chocolate and homemade brandy if she wants to. Emma also confesses she had never used drugs, and this is, probably, one of the aspects of her well doing. Another thing she is thankful to is her solitude: Emma considers being single a great condition.

The key word in the question is "LIVING" - Jeanne Clament has been dead since 1997.

This is not correct. I checked my answer and it says the oldest verified person on record is Jeanne Calmet at 122. And then it says on this list is Emma Morano age 116. This is NOT the first time I have answered things I KNEW were right yet they said I was wrong and later when I looked them up I was right yet they said WRONG. It is annoying when you get it right and they are WRONG. I don't think their info is up to date.
