The son of a former circus clown turned grocer and a cleaning woman, Red Skelton was introduced to show business at the age of seven by Ed Wynn, at a vaudeville show in Vincennes Indiana. At age 10, he left home to travel with a medicine show through the Midwest, and joined the vaudeville circuit at age 15.
He always ended his show with "Goodnight and may God Bless"

Red Skelton was so funny and never in any of his skits did you hear a single blue word. Today's comedians can hardly say "Hello" without dropping an F bomb or worse. I didn't think there was anything worse, but they've become very "creative". Too bad! All will think I'm just an old fogy. That's ok.

He never wanted his work sold for home entertainment. Sadly his grandchildren sold the rights to his works making them available. I personally love his comedy. I but his wishes should have been respected.
