Richard Allen Boone was born on the 18th of June, 1917 in Los Angeles, California. Richard was a college student, boxer, painter and oil-field laborer before ending up in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war he used the G.I. Bill to study acting with the Actor's Studio in New York. After a successful debut on Broadway, Richard continued playing and appeared on TV several times. He made his screen debut in 1950, after being signed to a 20th Century-Fox contract (Halls of Montezuma, 1951). 6 years later Boone starred in Have Gun – Will Travel, his most successful TV series. He became a true national star and is still remembered for this performance. Boone starred in more than 50 wonderful films and received several Emmy awards. Boone died of pneumonia on the 10th of January, 1981.
