Fredric March was an actor during the golden age of Hollywood whose career spanned five decades. He began a career in banking but in 1920 found himself cast as an extra in films being produced in New York. He starred on the Broadway stage first in 1926 and would return there between screen appearances later on. Fredric was cast in 74 films during his career. Nominated for Oscars 5 times, he won Best actor twice for his roles in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) and The Best Years of Our Lives (1946). He came to fame and received an Oscar nomination with his portrayal of John Barrymore in the Royal Family of Broadway (1930). Other notable performances included Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman (1930), Norman Maine in A Star is Born (1937), and President Jordan Lyman in Seven Days in May. His final performance was in the 1973 film The Iceman Cometh. He died of cancer in 1975.

In 1937, he was listed as the fifth highest paid individual in America, earning $500,000. He was cast in 9 movies opposite his second wife Florence Eldridge. He and Florence were married for 48 years, an eternity for Hollywood. Fredric built a Beverly Hills mansion in 1931, which became the first home of Brad Pitt, and Jennifer Anniston. Madonna now owns it.
