At the age of 15 Cathy Rigby was the first American woman to win a world medal when she won a silver on beam at the 1970 World Championships. Rigby qualified to the U.S. Olympic team for the 1968 Games in Mexico City and the 1972 Games in Munich. After the 1972 Olympics she retired from gymnastics.Cathy then took up acting. She made her on-stage musical debut in 1981 as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She also performed in the national tour of Annie Get Your Gun and productions of Meet Me in St. Louis, South Pacific, Paint Your Wagon, They're Playing Our Song and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Cathy has also appeared in television and movies her credits include The Perfect Body, Hard to Read, The Great Wallendas and Triathlon. Her best-known theatrical role has been Peter in Peter Pan. She played Peter on Broadway in the early '90s, and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1991.
