Who is this?

Danny Kaye (born David Daniel Kaminsky; January 18, 1911 – March 3, 1987) was an American actor, singer, dancer, comedian, and musician. Danny was a great physical comedian and pantomimist, also famous for his rapid-fire novelty songs.

Kaye's most notable works include Wonder Man (1945), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947), Hans Christian Andersen (1952), White Christmas (1954) and others. People always adored Kaye's unique performances and the way he presented hilarious patter songs.

Interesting bit of trivia that this question overlooked: Once a year, for several years, CBS replayed the Judy Garland movie The Wizard of Oz. For many years, starting in 1964 when I was 3, Danny Kaye was the host of the yearly replay. According to Wikipedia: "Beginning in 1964, he acted as television host to the CBS telecasts of MGM's The Wizard of Oz."
