Who is this?
Doris Day was a star of the 1959 film Pillow Talk. Together with Rock Hudson and Tony Randall, Day did a great job, which made the three of them an iconic trio of those times. They later worked together again in Lover Come Back (1961) and Send Me No Flowers (1964). She appeared in a number of wonderful romantic comedies, such as That Touch of Mink (1962) and Move Over, Darling (1963).
But Day's fame didn't last long. In 1965 the actress was called "The World's Oldest Virgin" after her performance in the failed movie Do Not Disturb. Her later films were considered critical flops, but her loyal fans helped these movies to be quite successful at the box office.

What an insult to Doris Day! Back in the day, she and Rock Hudson were hilarious in all the comedies they made, not to mention Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much". You may consider them "flops" but they were a hell of a lot better than the rom-coms produced now. She is an animal advocate and has her own foundation. She will be 96 in early April. To me, she is an icon.

I also liked her in,, Calamity Jane, The Glass Bottom Boat, With Six You Get Eggroll, Please Don't Eat the Daisies, By the Light of the Silvery Moon, Teachers Pet, Tea for Two, Lullaby of Broadway. I could go on and on. Doesn't sound like a flop to me. Some of these were filmed after 1965 and they weren't flops. I think she was a wonderful actress.

This does not do her career justice at all! She was a big star before Pillow Talk. She made many movies in the forties and fifties and was a fine singer with many hit records. She also had a tv show when her movie career slowed down. Can't call her a flop.

Sadfly missing a great actress. She was like the girl next door in her personality, very wholesome and down to earth. Great singer with both the big bands and in her movies. Grew up in Cincinnati Ohio just up the river from my home town of Aurora, Indiana.
