Who played the girl in The Girl From U.N.C.L.E?

The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. stars Stefanie Powers as American U.N.C.L.E. agent April Dancer and Noel Harrison (son of Rex Harrison) as her British partner, Mark Slate. Leo G. Carroll plays their superior, Alexander Waverly. The character name "April Dancer" was suggested by James Bond creator Ian Fleming who was a consultant in the creation of the parent program shortly before his death.

The series was not as successful as its parent program and was cancelled after 29 episodes due to low ratings. Several crossover episodes were produced in conjunction with The Man from U.N.C.L.E., including the episode that introduced April and Mark. In their first appearance they were portrayed by Mary Ann Mobley and Norman Fell, respectively.

In the memorable Girl crossover episode "The Mother Muffin Affair", Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) teamed up with April Dancer. with Boris Karloff dressed in drag as the titular villainess Mother Muffin.

Stephanie Zimbalist would have been too young to play the girl from UNCLE. She starred as Laura Holt in Remington Steele, who was played by Pierce Brosnan. This was a MTM show on Saturday nights on NBC. By the way. She is Efram Zimbalist's daughter. Powers would play Jennifer Hart on Hart to Hart on ABC television, with Robert Wagner. April Dancer used the Corvair powered UNCLE car more than Solo And Kuryakin ever did. Car was designed by Dean Jeffries. He also designed and built the Gallileo VII shuttlecraft for Star Trek original series, created the Monkeemobile and built the Munster Koach according to George Barris's design. Jeffries was a consultant for AMT model kit company and was involved in creating the Piranha dragster-- one of the first rear engine dragster, with a body made from cycolac plastic, just like the UNCLE car. Interesting fact: the set for the UNCLE offices could be swung around. Doing so turned them into the headquarters for the evil THRUSH headquarters. I saw this set while on a tour of MGM studios, way back in the sixties.

I loved the Man from U.N.C.L.E. show. I loved Robert Vaughn & David McCallum. They were both great. I also loved Stephanue Powers & Robert Wagner in Hart to Harr. They were both great shows.

I distinctly remember the impact that the "Cold Wat" had on American TV. It (and NBC's guts) gave Bill Cosby a shot at being a Black character who was not a stereotypical buffoon. And it spawned all kinds of plots and characters directly related to the struggle between the then, Soviet Union, and its Eastern European satellites, and the USA and its democratic and dictatorial allies. Somoza was a great example of the latter. I have always wondered if more money was spent during WW2, or The Cold War?
