As the large cannons didn't get much target practice in the city limits much of the powder was damp and instead of going 'Boom!' made copious clouds of smoke and smelled like flatulence. As Harding died in the San Francisco city limits the coroner should have performed the autopsy, none was performed and the Surgeon General signed the Death Certificate. Many speculate that Madam Harding had poisoned poor Warren in a fit of pique over his dalliances with his mistress in the White House linen closet, the maids weren't crazy about it either.
