There are some things in life that you can share with no one except your siblings...
Sisters and brothers. They can be rebellious, loud and annoying, but you know for sure: you would't trade them for anything in the world! If you grew up with siblings, you have definitely experienced these precious moments:
#1 You invent your own language
Some words you use in your sisters and brothers' company can't be understood by the outsiders. For siblings, keeping something in secret is not a problem - they just make up a couple of new words for it!
#2 Traveling by car is always fun!
The family is going to hit the road? Dear parents, get ready! If you travel by car with your siblings, you will never get bored. Singing, playing, laughing out loud, play fighting... anything can happen inside one vehicle and within a couple of hours.
#3 You share EVERYTHING...
...and sometimes it's getting really hard. You think you have your own toy? Not at all! You will definitely have to share it with your siblings, at least lend it to them for several minutes, hours, days... Can you imagine how hard it is for modern children to share all the gadgets they have!?
#4 You are always under protection
You may quarrel at home, but once you find yourself outside the door, there is always someone to have your back. This starts at school and continues throughout life. When you are in trouble, you always know who will save you.
#5 You have more friends
Your siblings' friends may become your friends. Having a lot of acquaintances is great, especially in adolescence.
#6 You learn to take care of others
Especially if you have younger siblings. From an early age you try to be responsible and share your experience with them. This way, you get to be a kind of a parent for your little ones.
#7 Getting the best snacks becomes a competition
If you have a sibling, there is no need to explain what it means. If mom made a terrible mistake and brought you two ice-creams with different flavors... You and your sibling are getting ready for a tournament because both of you certainly NEED the strawberry one.
#8 You always have something to wear
This one works better for the younger children. Of course, your elder siblings' clothes are not brand new, but you always have a good supply of them.
#9 Housecleaning is easier
Of course, since you can share your household duties with your sisters or brothers. And it can't be without quarrels and tricks. With siblings, housecleaning is fun, just like everything in your life!
#10 You are a lucky person!
Having siblings makes you happier. They know you as you are, and they will always be there for you. There is no other love like the love for your siblings. And this special love lasts forever.

I don't know where they got the information for this, but it wasn't anything like that when I was growing up: We always fought (for real) in the car. We tried getting each other in trouble all the time. We had our own circles of friends. We never helped each other with anything until we were yelled at. We didn't share unless told to. No secret language. And my friends had my back way before any of my siblings. My friends and their siblings were the same way. I can't relate to this article at all.

Whose fantasy was this? I had one of those things--the hand-me-down clothes. For me, having an older sister was a set-up for lifelong bullying. She never had my back, and I never got to share her friends. I am now finishing up litigation to put a legal stop to the bullying.
