#5 as true as true can be, l would swear my son’s dog could read the clock, during the school year, every day he would go sit by the door when it was time for him to come home and l honestly believed she knew about “daylight savings time” because it never fooled her. They are both long past now and I miss them everyday.

My dog always comes in to me at around 3 pm, which used to be his regular walk time. And a general fact dogs are apparently the only animal other than humans who know where to look when you point at something, even Chimps look at the end of your finger but a dog will go looking in the direction it points.

I have a cat named Onyx, when I got sick 1 1/2 years ago, he began licking the hair of his stomach till he was bald. Once I had my surgery, he quit licking and now all his hair is back. Cats and dogs alike sense when people are sick.

Cats are just as smart to know when your not feeling well. I had one that usually jumped on my stomach to sleep and when I had surgery he didn't do that until I got better. He was my best buddy and in usual times slept as close to me as he could get.

I’ve had three rescue dogs and three rescue cats. I find that dogs can understand commands and emotions. But, all three cats exhibited the same reactions to commands and emotions. My last cat lived 18 yeRs with me and I swear she knew me better than I knew myself!

Lynne Cage, extensive studies have been carried out on dogs to measure intelligence in different breeds. Border Collies came out on top, with Poodles second and Labradors/Golden Retrievers in third place. We have a Toy Poodle rescue from a puppy farm and she’s as bright as a button.

Over the years I have been fortunate enough to share my life with not only dogs, but cats and birds as well. I feel they are all smarter than we give them credit for,

My mini dachshund does all of the above. When daddy calls when he's on the way home. I tell her and she either paces or looks out the window on top of the couch. When I want her to do something or cuddle I fake cry and say you don't love me anymore...and she comes. When I talk to her about stuff, she tilts her head as if she is listening and understands. Love this the best. I have 2 brother cats and she and Niles have some interesting positions and hugs that make us laugh. The other cat just deals with her and she with him.
